Clown Therapy
Hospitalization profoundly disrupts a child’s daily routines and way of life, making it crucial to prioritize the humanization of care during their stay. This approach seeks to eliminate or at least reduce the trauma of hospitalization for young patients. To this end, non-conventional therapies have become increasingly prominent in pediatric wards, including hospital play areas, socialization spaces, school programs within the hospital, and clown therapy.
Thanks to a partnership with the "Fondazione Garavaglia Dottor Sorriso Onlus," the "Adams Method" has been introduced, bringing “doctor clowns” into pediatric wards. These clowns, dressed as doctors, bring joy and lightheartedness to children during their hospital stay.
The visits from "Dr. Pasticcio" and "Dr. Marrangio" are eagerly anticipated by young patients. Their enchanting presence introduces play into the rigid hospital environment, creating a delightful disorder within the structured order. They awaken a sense of vitality and restore the ability to dream.
The "Doctor Clowns" are true professionals of laughter therapy. They are not medical doctors dressed as clowns but trained entertainers, carefully prepared to work with individuals facing difficult circumstances.
