Spiritual Care
"Bring God to the bedside of the sick" was Padre Pio’s frequent exhortation to the staff of the Casa.
This enduring call to foster the spiritual and compassionate dimension of patient care has become the mission of a dedicated group of religious individuals who provide solace and comfort to those in need.
The Friars Minor Capuchins and the Sisters Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus have been serving and living within the hospital since its inception, personally chosen and invited by Saint Pio. Many of the sisters are directly involved in patient care, taking on leadership roles as head nurses in wards and operating rooms.
Everyone involved in the processes of diagnosis and treatment—each contributing at different moments, in diverse ways, and for specific clinical purposes—shares a single goal: to act in the best possible way for the benefit of the patients.
